Rachael v. Giada-It's On!
Or is it?
People have been comparing the two Food Netw0rk breakout stars, and pitting them against one another.
Yes, they're two attractive young women who cook on TV, of Italian descent.
But how similar are they?
Rachael talks about living the Adirondacks, in the country. "I'm not a Chef, I'm a cooker," she declares in her trademark raspy voice and then chuckles.
Giada has a different manner about her. She's more gourmet, she's soft-spoken, and ever so slightly aloof. She gets excited about what she cooks, but leaves it mostly in the eyebrows, and bright smile. Rachael says, "Yumm-o!!" It's just a different experience.
Although they competed in a special hour-and-a-half competition, teamed up with Bobby Flay and Mario Batali, they're just different.
I can't see Giada having a successful talk show. She's more the type to pleasant a cocktail party or something, but not as a brash talk-show host. Rachael seems more dancing in a club with loud music, whereas Giada would go for something more calm. You can tell by the way they dress. Rachael is more down-to-earth. She wears jeans and a nice T-shirt. Giada's always in something that looks more expensive a Dry-Clean-Only.
I can't say I have a preference. With Rachael, she makes you feel like you've known her for years. Giada is kind of removed. She talks about her family with distance. Rachael makes me feel like I know her sister--the one who bakes, since she only cooks.
